Diversity and inclusion (D&I) efforts in many companies focus on females and minorities. This webinar, however, will highlight D&I efforts among an often overlooked, yet not inconsequential, segment of the population – individuals with disabilities. Employment data will be presented for those with and without disabilities, and trends over time will be discussed. An overview of key legislation to prevent discrimination of individuals with disabilities will be provided. In addition, participants will learn what employers are doing to recruit and employ individuals with disabilities. The session will also include a discussion of ways to create a disability-inclusive culture.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the legislation enacted to try and prevent employment discrimination of those with disabilities
  • Describe generational differences in the reporting of disabilities
  • Present the business case for hiring individuals with disabilities
  • Identify ways to recruit, employ, and make workplaces more inclusive for individuals with disabilities

Intended audience:

This session is intended for a general audience at a post-graduate level; no specific content knowledge is required.
