In this workshop, participants will explore Generative AI's transformative potential in the realm of Human Resources. From understanding the core concepts of Generative AI to practical applications, ethical considerations, and future readiness, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of how AI-powered insights can revolutionize HR practices. Through interactive activities and discussions, HR professionals, management consultants, and executive coaches will leave equipped with the knowledge and insights to harness Generative AI to enhance talent management, employee engagement, and HR decision-making, while navigating ethical challenges and shaping the future of HR.

This seminar is intended for a general audience at a postgraduate level; no specific content knowledge is required.


Learning Objectives

Based on the content of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Explain what Generative AI is, its underlying principles, and identify three or more applications in the field of HR.
  • Describe two or more ethical implications of using Generative AI in HR processes and identify two or more potential legal compliance requirements associated with AI adoption.
  • Describe how to create a personalized action plan for integrating Generative AI into their HR practices, including identifying specific use cases and strategies for overcoming implementation challenges.

    Continuing Education (CE) Credits

    This seminar is eligible for 3.0 continuing education credits for psychologists. To qualify for these credits, the entire program must be attended. There is no partial credits available. SIOP will email CE letters 30 days after the session to the individuals who responded "Yes" to question #1 on the post-event evaluation.

    Your Presenters

    Rob Stilson, Ph.D. is an accomplished People Analytics Principal Analyst with Boston Scientific and part-time professor for the University of Georgia. Before his current role, Rob was a Manager of People Analytics at PwC on the Workforce Transformation team. Prior to working for PwC Rob was a Sr. Human Capital Analyst with Lockheed Martin on the Employee Experience & Engagement team specializing in Employee Life Cycle Analytics and qualitative and quantitative Survey Analysis. Before joining Lockheed Martin, he was the Director, Research and Test Development for TalentQuest, providing test and simulation creation for clients along with survey and ROI analysis. Preceding TQ, he was the Senior Manager, Research and Development for FurstPerson where he created computer adaptive and static tests for various clients. Additionally, he has experience as a freelance consultant providing reporting automation and testing expertise to various clients. Dr. Stilson earned his B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and his Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of South Florida, and he is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), People Analytics Future of Work (PAFOW), Georgia Association for Industrial Organizational Psychology (GAIOP) and ally member of Blacks in Industrial-Organizational Psychology (BIOP).


    Dave Lux, Ph.D. is an HR Compliance Specialist - Assessment Manager with Koch Capabilities, LLC who has spent the last 20+ years helping clients attract, select, and promote employees. He has worked on a variety of projects in the areas of selection system development and implementation, performance management, 360 surveys, background and drug screening, equal pay analyses, and WOTC utilization. He received his MA and Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Central Michigan University and his BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Dave is a member of the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and is a licensed psychologist (PSY002392) in Georgia.
